OVERVIEW
One of several new names in F1, but again not a new team. This is the former Minardi team, who Red Bull took control of on 1st November 2005, giving the Austrian  energy drink firm a second team in the F1 championship.
Scuderia Toro Rosso, or 'Stable Red Bull' in Italian are based at Minardi's former base in Faenza, Italy, at least for the time being, as was the requirement put down by Minardi boss Paul Stoddart during the sale.
Red Bull sponsored drivers Vitantonio Liuzzi, and Scott Speed are the pilots, while ex F1 driver, Austrian Gerhard Berger is the 50% stake shareholder, and will oversee the majority of operations of the team, while Dietrich Mateschitz looks after the main operations of Red Bull Racing.
The team are using V10 Cosworth engines, somewhat controversially. Minardi had been allowed to use restricted V10 engines by the FIA due to budgetary concerns, but with the Red Bull takeover, it can no longer be said that the team have financial issues.
However the decision to use the restricted unit has been kept, and it will be interesting to see how successful STR are.
