OVERVIEW
Just making the grid at Bahrain will be a miracle for this brand new team.
Founded in November 2005, partly due to Takuma Sato's sacking from Honda, the team has fought tooth and nail to get into the Formula One 2006 championship.
Only accepted in January after securing unanimous approval from the 10 other teams. It's rumored that engine supplier, Honda, paid the $48M entry bond to the FIA in order to secure the team's place in the sport.
Team Principal Aguri Suzuki retired from F1 racing in 1995 after a neck injury, but has had reasonable success as a team owner in the USA, but to expect success in their first F1 season is a long shot indeed.
The team will start the campaign with modified 2002 Arrows chassis, but the Honda engine, among the most powerful in F1, should give the team a much needed kick when their new car is introduced, supposedly at Imola.
BAR (Honda) reject Takuma Sato takes up lead driver position, while relative unknown Yuji Ide slips into the second seat.
